It seems the reason I wasn't able to uninstall it was because it was set as DEACTIVATED in the IE plug-in manager. I discovered it was applied as a plug-in within Internet Explorer (which I very rarely ever used). I was able to use the AVG Remover app to dump the PC tuneup but the web tuneup was a bit more entrenched. I too had an issue removing the AVG web tuneup, which needed to be done before the system allowed install of current AVG Tuneup. If you still see AVG Web TuneUp, please run AVG Remover tool in Safe mode : to remove AVG traces.įeel free to let us know if you require further assistance.
